Upcoming Nigerian singer, Naira Marley, would be released from Ikoyi prison in Lagos state on Monday, June 3, according to new statement made by his management on his Instagram page.
Recall that the rapper who has been in custody since he was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on the 10th of May, 2019, was granted a 2 million naira bail by the Federal High Court in Lagos following his bail hearing on the 30th May, 2019.
Naira Marley’s management had however announced earlier via an official statement on the singer’s Instagram page that the singer would be released on 30th May. This was not possible as the bail conditions which include a 2 million naira bail fee and the provision of two sureties, were not met.
According to new report by the his management, the rapper would be released on Monday, June 3. They added that all the bail condition has now been met, however the rapper is to remain in Ikoyi Prison after his bail has been perfected because the court needs to confirm it first which would happen on Monday.
