It was a case of unexpected tragedy when a petrol tanker burst into flames at the Obalende area of Lagos Island on Thursday evening.
The tanker belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) “was said to have tipped over before bursting into flames in front of the Oando filling station,” according to a Channels Television report.
It said that several persons were reportedly injured while one person was killed in the incident before the fire was put off by men of the Lagos State Fire Service.
